Drought Prediction, Climate Change, Coping Mechanisms: Experiences for a Developing Country
Dr. Zewdu has been a Project Scientist at the UCAR/NOAA/CPC International Desks since October 2022. He led the Climate Modeling and Prediction Group at the IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Centre (ICPAC), Nairobi, Kenya, between 2016-2022. He was a researcher at the University of Oklahoma specializing in weather and climate modeling, data assimilation, and climate downscaling, with considerable research on Horn of Africa climate variability and monthly to seasonal rainfall forecasting. Dr. Segele was a Team Leader of the Weather Forecast and Early Warning at the NMA of Ethiopia and worked extensively with stakeholders in climate forecast applications and early warning activities.
